Any tattoo is stupid, but these are particularly dumb. The Germans have a great term for them: Arschgeweih, or "Ass-antlers"

Why do American women try to talk around the most obvious fact in Western Civilization. . .? It's nothing (nothing) more than a sperm-target.

I think it makes it easier for guys to pick out the tramps from the not so trampy women. HUGE mistake ladies...

As long as it isn't something distracting, like a screen shot from 'halo reach' or some dodgamn smurfs... I guess it's okay.

As long as it isn't a bar code, I don't see the issue. It gives a guy something to focus on when he's holding her hips. Or ears....

Update: Since my last review of this topic - I have gotten a tattoo here myself. I placed it here because of the shape of the tattoo and the limited number of places I felt it 1) would look right and 2) could be easily covered when I needed to keep it under wraps i.e at work, school, church haha. I don't go with the hype surrounding this tattoo placement. It's not a sign of anything, it's simply a personal choice. It's not an automatic sign of trashiness or sexual promiscuity. It's amazing that people still resort to thinking this. I must admit, there may have been some grain of truth to it in the distant path, but as many of you have pointed out - "everyone and their mother's now has one". It's simply a trend, not a label. :Old post: Not to call you out, magellan...but... Isn't the creativity in the tattoo itself, not in where the individual puts it? There are few places a woman can place a tattoo where it is visible when desired, and easy to hide when not.

The lower back tattoo (otherwise known has the "tramp-stamp") on women is not sexy. You might as well say "I am easy" and "don't take me seriously". Aesthetically speaking, it just seems way too symmetrical of a place for a tattoo if that makes any sense. I mean it really does look more like a trademark or stamp than of something personal about the girl. (It goes without mentioning guys too should not get tattoos here).

Oh sure. Japanese writing is all the rage with this tattoo. Just be sure you have an interpreter handy before you have it done...What? You mean it really says I smell like dead fish!!

haha! where is a place on your body that no one else has a tattoo??? the individuality is what the tattoo is of, not where you put it. and its only a tramp stamp and bullseye if its on that type of girl, i dont think you should tell ppl where or what they should get a tattoo of, that goes back to individualality. no offense, but who cares what ppl think?? most ppl dont like tattoos anyway, and now even the ppl with tattoos are degradin each other. anyway, get what YOU want, not what other ppl think you should get. if u go by what other ppl think ur guna regret it.

Tatooing, while it may currently be popular, is in my opinion one of the ugliest most repulsive things you can do to your body - regardless of the body part or place where you decide to put it. First of all, it shows no regard or respect for your body reducing it to the level of a graffitti wall. Secondly, it's permanent - no turning back unless you want a scar that looks essentially the same. And finally, if for no other reason, consider the word "gravity" before getting something so irreversable done to yourself. Or have you not seen some of the pathetic looking, blurred and distorted things hanging on the baggy skin of old soldiers and sailors? If you must cave to fad then do something in henna. At least give yourself the option to change your mind.

Commonly known as the "Tramp Stamp," the lower back tattoo seems to be had by every female between the ages of 18-25. It is amazingly trendy right now for girls to be getting tattoos, and this seems to be one of the first places they get it put. So while it used to be only bad girls would get inked right above their ass, it seems like everybody and there mother is getting tattoos on the lower back now.

I think the tramp stamp has been overdone. Folks need to show a little creativity when getting a tattoo - isn't the whole point to show your individuality a bit? If that's the case, don't get one where everyone else has one.
