Its hard to believe theres no caffeine in this product. It is however a very satisfying tasting drink. It has a bite to eat and its great to make rootbeer floats with. My favorite root beer that comes in a can/

I am from the UK and i'm extremely passionate about american food/soda. I love root beer and as far as American root beers go, I have tried a&w, barq's and mug. A&W is the first root beer I have tried and remains my favourite. The aroma is great, the general taste is outstanding, just like a good root beer should be. A stronger more fresh taste than the other two that I have tried and generally delicious and thirst-quenching. The diet version is also outstanding. What can I say other than I love the stuff so much? The chain of restaurants do lovely food too.

Has a pleasant aroma thats what you first notice. Give it a sniff seriously. Has about the best carbonation of any bottled soda I've ever tried. It pours with a nice head and the carbonation is really strong and lasts in the glass. Adds a nice sparkling quality to the drink that offsets the sweetness. Also the carbonation lasted for the entire time I had the 2-liter bottle in the fridge which was over a week. Creamy taste, refreshing sparkling flavor with a touch of vanilla. Of course theres a huge sweet rush but the intense carbonation offsets this and stops it before it gets sickly. The best mass produced root beer in my opinion.

I almost hate to rate it so high considering how "mainstream" it is but after having tried many other brands(both obscure and mainstream) I still think this ones the best...its got that creamy/vanilla element to it that other root beers don't. * I also find it interesting that it's produced by Cadbury Schweppes, A British company....good luck finding it or any root beer in England.

Not a big fan of anything with the title "Beer" in it. But when walking down the street in Colonial Williamsburg VA on a hot summer afternoon, you can count on a nice, chilled, glass bottle of A&W to take off the edge. Anywhere else, it just nasty.

Mmmmm, root beer! This drink is greatly underrated! Make sure to drink it without ice, as that is the way it was intended to be had. While it may not cure the ailments that it was originally made to cure, it is one hell of a tasty beverage.

A&W is the best root beer besides a root beer from a small shop in South Jersey. Either way this smooth beer is super creamy. I feel creaminess is really important in root beer, and if you add a scoop of vanilla ice cream you will have the ultimate drink/desert!

Too mild of root beer for me. Decent flavor, not enough kick.

The "A" stands for Awesomely and the "W" stands for WOW! A&W; is 'awesomely wow.' Nothing beats an A&W; float!

The standard mass produced root beer. Sure there are better out there, but you'll be paying more for it.

Overly sweet without any tang. Hearing A & W is the Root Beer on tap is just slightly better than there being none at all...

Has a buttery quality that is really off-putting. Love root beer, but A&W; is vastly overrated.

A&W; is probably the best mass-market available. I prefer Stewart's in a bottle, or 1919 on tap, but A&W; will do in a pinch.

On a par with Barq's either solo or with ice cream in a float. A wonderful treat for the taste buds. About the only root beers that are better are the bottled in glass ones like IBC.

It's the only root beer worth drinking, in my book. I have to be in a real mood to drink root beer, because it's a bit sweet for me and not a very good thirst quencher. I love A & W floats. Especially with chocolate ice cream.. about the only way I like chocolate ice cream.

Nothing is better (except maybe Lemonade) on a hot day. A cold frosty mug of A&W; Root Beer. It's even better if you can still find an A&W; Root Beer stand somewhere. I always loved driving up and getting that mug propped on my window tray. Good memories...

This is one of the best root beers not as good as 1919 root beer but then again 1919 isn't bottled only on draft.

A&W; rootbeer is the most incredible rootbeer on earth. IBC doesn't even come close, and if it wasn't in a glass bottle, no one would even like it.

It's good as a very basic rootbeer but it's so bland and overly sweet. Take Barques or IBC over this.

It used to be better when it was sold at the drive-in restaurants. Now, I would say that 1919 Rootbeer is the greatest!! Too bad you can only get it in Minnesota.

There are so many different kinds of rootbeer that sometimes it's hard to distinguish one from another since it's all the exact same drink. However, if I had to distinguish something about this rootbeer, it would be that it tastes more creamy, and has a smooth taste to it. It's really good. It's classic in a root beer float, especially in the summer.
