I booked a move across country with these guys. They picked up my stuff on Dec 15th and I was told it would be delivered prior to Christmas. I tried calling numerous times once I never received my stuff and never got a response. Finally I got through to someone on the 4th and was told that I should have my belongings by January 20th at the latest. They weren't able to tell me the status of my move "because they couldn't get in contact with the driver" On Jan 21st after not hearing anything, I called again. This time I was told that the truck all of my stuff was on broke down and they had to switch trucks and should have it by the 27th "at the latest" Needless to say this goes on and on. It is now February 10th, I don't have my stuff and I have no idea where it is. If I could give 0 stars I would have

I really wish I would have found this site prior to me hiring these incompetent idiots. They totally ripped me off with the charges and I am concerned about them having my credit card information! They broke one of my pictures, the put all of my boxes in my basement, even though I pointed out where all the rooms were and all my boxes were marked. So I ended up having to move all the books from the basement up two floors (master bedroom) one flight of stairs (kitchen). One of the guys who was hired was brand new and the other guy kept yelling at him the whole time and they were using my furniture for moving practice, they dropped my family heirloom dining room table and I’m surprised it didn’t break. Such a horrible experience, these morons took 5 hours to unload a 1 bedroom apartment, with the heaviest thing my matrees, and possibly my couch. When I spoke with the guy who gave me a quote I told him I would call him back if I decided to book with them, never did this and then they calle... Read more

this company sent out two men to help us load up our moving truck. I got held up at u-haul while they re-wired my hitch. in the mean time these two men stole a 9mm hand gun. when I got home and asked about it they said they put it in the dresser that is now in the middle of the the moving truck. it was going to go with me in my personal truck. when I got to where I was moving to it was not there. The police were contacted and when they followed up with Father and Sons the company could not even tell them who they sent out to help thier books were that messed up. All the police could find out at first wa the Father ans sons sent out ex-cons to help load up my truck with only my wife and two little girls at home. Father and sons is not doing anything about this and do not really care about what is going on. To make a long story short I am just greatful that all that happened was a stolen gun and nothen to my family. This company needs to be shut down! Please do not do business with the... Read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience with Father and Son Moving in Colorado. I was given an estimated arrival time of 11am - 1pm. Father & Son did not show up until 5:30. I called 3 separate times after 1pm to find out what was going on, and each time I was given a different story about where my movers where and when they would get to me (none of which turned out to be true). Neither Father & Son nor the drivers ever called me to let me know what the situation was. When they finally arrived, it was obvious that this was their last job on what had now become Saturday night, and they did not want to be there. They gave me attitude the entire time and pretty much threw my stuff around. Without exaggeration, every piece of furniture I own had a new dent, ding, or scratch afterwards. When we called to complain, Father & Son told us 1) they wouldn't take responsibility for the incredible lateness, 2) those movers no longer worked there, and 3) we were SOL. I would never use Father & Son again... Read more

This company has cost me almost $500 in overdraft fees at my bank. I was told that I needed to give them a credit card for a $100 deposit. I told them that I would not pay anything up front therefore I would find another moving company. I was promised by Jason Shaw that he would not charge me a deposit if I kept my scheduled move with them. That very day my bank account was charged a $100 fee. I was leaving for vacation and I was promised by Jason Shaw that my money was accidentally taken out of my account and it would be put back in within the hour. That was on July 31st, 2009 and it is now August 13th and still no refund. So on vacation I assumed he made good on his promise and used my debit card on some small items that did not exceed $100. In turn I have been charged with almost $500 in overdraft fees. I spoke with Jason Shaw for about the tenth time and of course he reassured me it would all be taken care of. I then tried to get a manager on the phone with no luck until the 4th tr... Read more

Hidden fees all over the place, DO NOT lift a finger helping these ppl if you do decide to use them. I was told by one of the "sons" I talked to about the what they did as far as reassembling furtiture, beds, etc. He told me they would take all my furniture apart and put it back together at my new place. What he didn't tell me was that if I chose to be helpful and disasemble my bed myself, in front of the movers who said NOTHING while they watched me help them. Fast forward to the move. Another thing they fail to tell you is that there's a minimum travel time of 1 hour @75$ regardless if its a five minute move, which mine was. So we get to my new place and the felon who watched me take my bed apart in an effort to help them tells me they aren't going to be putting my bed together since I was the one who took it apart. Well, sorry for being a nice guy and trying to make their jobs a little easier. After they had lefyt I noticed a huge gash on my headboard and already being upset I calle... Read more

They actually had their Better Business accreditation revoked. They broke my piano and refused to pay for it. Insurance was never offered. If I wanted it (I found out later) I would have to have it all taken to their warehouse and weighed which would have cost hundreds of dollars. They have a very long pattern of this type of thing. They just don't care. They moved me on July 5 2007. One of them actually told me "We were supposed to move someone yesterday but we didn't because it was the 4th. How selfish? Don't they know we have families?" Thats the attitude of the movers you'll get

I am writing this because it seems so many people only write when they have a bad experience. My husband and I used Neighbors Moving & Storage to move us locally last week. I read all of the other reviews and was suprised to see any bad comments. Our move went great! We had a good experience from start to finish. We were given personal attention by Neighbors and felt they had our best interest in mind.

Estimate low-balled. When the movers show up, then you finally see an actual contract with much higher prices and items you will be charged for that you didn't know about or were quoted lower prices on the written estimate. Movers smashed & ruined items, then hid them behind boxes or up against walls. Moving truck ran off driveway and smashed a water hydrant, leaving water dripping out of it. Weeks later, I am still trying to get the company to replace it. Claims department is a joke. As far as I can tell it is one girl who works part time in Florida that promises I am her #1 priority and as soon as her operations manager "gets out of his meeting" or "back from lunch", she'll have an answer for me. Apparently the operations manager is in a continuous +2 week meeting with lots of food because I still don't have any answer. As far as our damaged items, well the claim process is by US mail. I sent a description of all the personal property they destroyed by mail to their Florida "... Read more

My friend called Father & Son. They promised an arrival from 1100-1400 hrs. They arrived at 2000 hrs. She told them that she had VERY heavy furniture when reserving and they said that wouldn't be an issue. When the movers arrived, they looked at her furniture, tried to lift it, called for more help, then decided it would be best to start the next day. They said that if time ran out, they would charge her the agreed amount, then they would haggle on the side for cash to finish the job. One of the movers was wearing an ankle monitor. I watched for over an hour and they moved one headboard, two toolboxes and a metal shelf in that time. most of the time they sat on the back of the truck looking like they had just run a marathon. They scratched one particular piece of very nice furniture, didn't shrink wrap anything and only used blankets in the truck. When they left, they wouldn't shake my friend's fiance's hand and left several blankets. When it was brought to their attention, ... Read more

I have had the worst experience EVER with Father and Son moving out of Denver with a local Colorado Springs move. I was given a relatively low estimate over the phone and then I didn't even flinch when the final bill was double. But when it came time to getting my items out of their storage......OMG. It was like pulling teeth. They couldn't find the "prepaid/reservation" deposit I gave them over the telephone (it had conveniently been misapporpriated), and they nearly charged me double again to get my things released to my new address. I spent two weeks - making phone call upon phone call, to no avail. It was only after I threatened to call the District Attorney did they return my call. I can't imagine the number of military families they must be taking advantage of.

I booked and confirmed a move with Father and Son. My first time hiring movers. They overcharged me for fees I did not agree. They showed up 4 hours late and I called to talk to someone when they were 2 hours late. He told me we overbooked. It is the end of the month all moves are late. Your only option is that they won't show up. He actually said, "do you want them to show up or not?" I had to be out by the next day. Movers got there and they rounded the time off charging me more time than was used. A move that should have cost me $600.00 cost $800.00. I am now disputing the charges with the credit card company. They broke my desk and an expensive file carrier of $300.00. They had to have known and did not tell me. I called the company's general manager, Frank, and he has yet to return my call. Please use one of the movers that appear to more expensive! You will save time and money.

My sister and her boyfriend called a month ahead of time and booked a move. They had sold their home and had to be out by 2:00 on Sat. 6-28. No problem. My sister's boyfriend called the week before to confirm movers would be there no later than 9:00 - No problem. By 10:00 no one had showed up. Called them and company had unfortunately "over-booked" and they would try to be there by 1:00 (knowing my sister & boyfriend had to be out by 2:00). They never called back, and never showed up. Talk about a lousy company. They had a month's notice and NEVER SHOWED UP!!! NEVER BOOK THIS COMPANY AS THEY DON'T KEEP THEIR WORD. They are not a local company, but instead are based out of Florida. Make sure you find a local, highly recommended company before you book them. This company is none of the above. They were not apologetic, but had the "too bad" attitude. I've moved many times and never have had this happen. From the looks of other comments on this company, they should pack up t... Read more

The Rest of the Story: -- Reputable and Thorough in their Customer Approach -- Although I understand how things can be misinterpreted, I know for a fact that Father & Son calls back out to ANY customer that first called in to inquire about a move either by phone, fax or through the internet. Often, the company will hold the date in question as a courtesy for a customer wishing to move, even if they do not COMMIT to the date they have inquired about. The dispatch division will call to confirm all those tentative reservations a day prior, as a courtesy. This approach is very helpful, as Father & Son has often "bailed out" customers who are left WAITING for the mover they DID confirm, and need last minute help when they are left in the lurch the day before their planned move date. This is not a "tactic", and the moving company who claimed it was a tactic was merely trying to curry favor with their existing customer. The reality is that ALL tentative and booked appointments are recal... Read more

We chose another.....uhm, more reputable moving company. These guys called (my wife) earlier today to confirm that we were still planning on using them for the move....even though we most definately did not schedule anything with them. I followed up with our movers and they confirmed that this is something of a regular tactic for Father and Son. If they'll take other peoples jobs....they'll take your money$$

I contacted Greg at Father and Sons the 1st week of Nov. 2007 and requested a move for Nov 19, 2007. I requested I be packed and moved and even mentioned how many rooms there needed to be packed. I was told it would take one day. No one came out to estimate the job, so I was unclear how he knew it would only take one day, and how many and what types of boxes were needed. I called again the following week to confirm it could be done in one day. I was transferred to dispatch who confirmed it was not possible and would take 2 days to pack and move. On the morning of the move the movers called to ask if they need to bring any boxes. My husband said yes, you are scheduled to pack and move us. They were unaware of the packing. They went back to get boxes. They arrived and had no where near enough boxes. I had to scrounge boxes for them and provide some tape. They also used my phone several times to call the office which was long distance. I was provided an incomplete bill of lading on t... Read more

They were an hour late, broke some furniture , gouged others, gossiped about me to my neighbors. Then a couple hours in decided that they didn't feel like finishing the job! I have to be out of there in two days. Half of my stuff is still there. It's heavy stuff, not anything I could move on my own. Why should I have to call a moving company to finish what the first moving company refused to do?? And this cost me a week's pay?? Horrible, horrible experience, and now I can't afford to hire anyone else. They did NOTHING right! And then they made me walk to my new place while they cooled their heels in the truck. When I called the company to complain, I got screamed at, insulted, and told that it wasn't their "damn problem." Use ANYONE other than these people!

While the team of movers were very hard working their enthusiam did not make up for the $170 I had to spend to fix the walls they destroyed moving our furniture. To make matters worse the lead mover promised he would have a repair man there the next day to fix the walls. Never received a call. Our house was being sold the following day. Had to jump through hoops to get it fixed and only got a "Sorry About That" from the company. Take my advice - USE SOMEONE, ANYONE ELSE!!!

I have moved furniture all over the world (including Australia and the UK) and have never had so much damage done as when I used these guys to move me a few blocks down the street in Denver. OK so a few scratches and knocks here and there are to be expected, but furniture being dropped off the back of their truck borders on incompetence. Unless your furniture is worth only a few dollars, In future, I will spend more on Movers whose reputation requires them to take more care. The damage certainly cost me far more at the end of the day.
