1. How do I rate things on RateItAll?
It's easy! Just click the yellow "Rate It!" button next to the item you want to rate. On some pages, the yellow "Rate It!" button appears to the far right of the item name. On other pages, the yellow "Rate It!" button appears right below the item name.

When you click a yellow "Rate It!" button for the first time, you'll go to a page that asks you to register with RateItAll. We ask you to register because it lets us collect information we need to provide you with a better service (e.g., the ability to isolate the opinions of men, women, and people in different age groups). It also helps us make sure our ratings are trustworthy (e.g., we don't let people rate a specific item more than once).

Once you're a registered user, clicking a yellow "Rate It!" button will open a small pop-up window. To leave your opinion, first use the drop-down menu (or click on the stars) to give the item a rating of 1 (Terrible!), 2 (Bad), 3 (OK), 4 (Good), or 5 (Great!). Then click inside the white box near the bottom of the pop-up window and write a text review of the item (the longer the better!). When you're done, just click the "SUBMIT!" button and your opinion will be entered into our database immediately.
2. What if I can't find something I want to rate?

Let us know! At the bottom of each ratings list, there's a link to a form that asks people to suggest additions to our site (or you can click HERE to make a suggestion). If we think your suggestion is right for our site, we'll add it and ask you to be the first one to rate it.

3. How do I find out what people like me think?
Once you've reached a ratings list page (e.g., "Drama Movies"), you'll see a box near the top of the page that says, "Find Out What People Like YOU Think!" By using one or both of the drop-down menus on the right side of that box and then clicking the "GO!" button, you can filter the ratings list to only reflect ratings left by people of certain ages and/or genders.
4. How can I change my ratings?
You can change your previously submitted ratings and comments any time you want. Just find a page that shows the item you want to re-rate and click the link that says "Change." That will open a pop-up window that shows your old rating and comment. Just make whatever changes you want and click the "SUBMIT!" button. Your changes will be made immediately. (Note: whenever you change a comment, it always resets the counter that keeps track of the number of people who said your comment was "Helpful" or "Not Helpful."
5. How can I change my registration information?
To change your registration information, just click the "Account" link that appears in the blue box at the top right of every page. That will take you to a form that lets you make changes.
6. Does RateItAll edit the ratings or comments that people leave?
We never edit your ratings or comments. Once you share an opinion, it goes right into the database. We do, however, reserve the right to delete comments that contain offensive material (hate group propaganda, extreme profanity, etc.).
7. Is my information safe with you?
Yes, your information is safe with us! RateItAll will NOT release your personal information without your consent. Period. For details, please read our Privacy Policy.
8. How can I use RateItAll to make buying decisions?
Here's an example: let's say you're thinking about buying some new music. If you go to our "Current Rock & Pop CDs" page, you can find a list of the top-rated CDs. And, if you want, you can filter the list so it reflects only the ratings left by people your own age and gender. Clicking on the title of any CD will take you to a page that shows comments about that CD (left by other users) and links related to that CD (including a link to a site where you can buy it).
9. How can I use RateItAll to share my opinion?
Here's an example: let's say you just took a trip and the airline treated you poorly. If you go to our "Airlines" ratings list, you can give that airline a low rating, then leave a text review that warns other people not to fly with them.
10. How can I use RateItAll to start an information search?
Here's an example: let's say you want to find some good Web sites about a certain actress. If you go to our "Actresses" page and click on the name of the actress you're interested in, you will find a list of links that have all kinds of information about her.
11. How can I use RateItAll to research trends and opinions?
Here's an example: let's say you want to compare the opinions of men vs. women on the movies that are currently playing. If you go to our "Current Release Movies" page, you can filter the list to reflect only ratings left by men, then filter the list to reflect only ratings left by women.
12. What if I have more questions?
Let us know if you have more questions by using the "Feedback" link at the bottom of any page or sending an e-mail to [email protected].
